There’s something about engagement photos at Forsyth Park that already feels easygoing, but Kelsey and Allen made this session especially fun. From the beginning, they were completely themselves, laughing, messing around, walking hand in hand, and genuinely enjoying the time together. They had already booked me for their wedding, so getting to spend this time with them before the big day made me even more excited for what’s ahead. They’re relaxed, playful, down to earth, and so clearly in love, which is pretty much my favorite combination for an engagement session.

Engagement Photos at Forsyth Park That Actually Feel Like You

One of the biggest things I want couples to know is that beautiful engagement photos don’t have to mean standing perfectly still and worrying about what you’re doing with your hands the entire time. You can have both, the pretty photos you’ll want framed and the ones where you’re mid-laugh, running through the park, or looking at each other in a way that feels completely natural.

That was Kelsey and Allen from start to finish. We wandered beneath the oak trees, danced around, sat together on the steps, and eventually made our way toward the fountain. There was never this pressure for everything to look perfect. They gave themselves permission to just enjoy it, and because of that, their personalities came through in every part of the session.

A Playful Afternoon Around Savannah

Forsyth Park is such a good backdrop for this kind of session because there’s plenty of room to move around and let things unfold naturally. Between the winding paths, Spanish moss, greenery, and the iconic fountain, we could explore without making the session feel like we were constantly stopping for the next photo.

And I think that freedom really suited Kelsey and Allen. The way they naturally leaned into each other, the little kisses between laughs, and the way they could go from sweet to completely playful in a second made photographing them so much fun. Their energy together was just easy. Nothing needed to be forced because they were actually present with each other, which will always matter more to me than getting a “perfect” pose.

Why I Love Relaxed Engagement Photos at Forsyth Park

Your engagement session is one of the few parts of wedding planning where there really doesn’t need to be an agenda. You get to slow down, spend some time together, and let me document who you are in this season of your relationship. And yes, we’ll get the beautiful photos, but we can have a lot of fun getting there.

Kelsey and Allen are such a good example of why I love sessions like this. They showed up ready to enjoy each other instead of worrying about the camera, and you can feel that when you look through their photos. There’s movement, laughter, closeness, and all of those little in-between moments that feel like them. Now I’m just that much more excited to get these two in front of my camera again for their wedding day.
