I’m a true romantic at heart, and It fills me with so much joy to know that I get to work with so many amazing couples like you.
There’s a moment at nearly every wedding where two meaningful things happen at the same time. A quiet breath before walking down the aisle. A parent wiping away tears in the back row. This is where having a second photographer begins to matter, not in a flashy way, but in a steady, grounding one. It’s less about “more photos” and more about allowing the day to be seen fully, from more than one heartbeat at once!

Weddings don’t move in straight lines. They ripple outward. While I’m with you during your first look, a second photographer might be capturing your partner’s nervous smile from another angle, or the way your mom’s hands tremble just slightly as she watches. A second photographer allows moments to exist without interruption. Nothing has to be rushed or rearranged. The day gets to unfold naturally, and every piece of it is held with care.

One of the most beautiful benefits of a second photographer is perspective. Not just physically, but emotionally. One photographer can stay close, intimate, right in the feeling of things. The other can step back, noticing the room, the reactions, the in-between glances you may never see but will feel deeply when you look back. During the ceremony, this means wide, grounding shots and quiet, tearful close-ups happening simultaneously. During portraits, it means layered storytelling, movement, connection, context, all woven together!

From a practical standpoint, a second photographer also brings ease. Getting ready in two locations? Covered. A tight timeline? More breathing room. Family photos moving a little slower than planned? No stress. Instead of trying to be everywhere at once, I get to stay present with you, knowing nothing meaningful is being missed. And presence changes everything. It shows in the photos. It shows in how the day feels.

A second photographer is especially helpful for:
That said, there are intimate days where one photographer is absolutely enough. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all decision, it’s about what your day needs, and how you want it remembered!

If you’re planning a wedding that feels layered, emotional, and full, or if the thought of missing a moment makes your chest tighten just a bit, I’m always happy to talk through whether a second photographer makes sense for your day. If you’re dreaming of photos that feel complete, honest, and deeply lived-in, let’s have that conversation together. Head to my contact page so we can chat about the ideas you have!
