This intimate Savannah elopement celebrated not only Nikita and Harrison’s marriage, but also the traditions, family, and moments that shaped their story. With just seven of their closest family members by their side, they spent the day honoring both their cultures through two heartfelt ceremonies, beginning with a beautiful Hindu ceremony at SGVP Gurukul in Bloomingdale before changing into a completely new look for a civil ceremony beneath the oaks of Forsyth Park. It was thoughtful, deeply personal, and a reminder that your wedding day can look however feels most like you.

An Intimate Savannah Elopement Rooted in Tradition

The day began surrounded by vibrant colors, meaningful traditions, and generations of family gathered together. Every detail carried significance, from the intricate mehndi covering Nikita’s hands to the jewelry and stunning red bridal attire she wore for the ceremony. Even before the ceremony began, there was a quiet excitement in the room as everyone prepared for what was to come.

Their Hindu ceremony at SGVP Gurukul was filled with beautiful rituals that have been passed down through generations. Family wasn’t simply there to watch, they were part of every meaningful moment. With only parents and siblings present, every blessing, every smile, and every tradition felt incredibly personal. You could feel how much intention went into honoring this part of their story before moving into the next chapter of the day.

Portraits Between Chapters of Their Intimate Savannah Elopement

After the ceremony, we made our way to Hotel Bardo in Savannah for portraits before the next celebration began. It felt like a chance for everyone to slow down for a little while. The mix of classic architecture, cozy interiors, and beautiful natural light created such a timeless backdrop, and it was fun watching Nikita and Harrison simply enjoy being newly married together.

One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing how seamlessly the two celebrations connected. Even as outfits changed later on, little details like Nikita’s henna remained, tying both ceremonies together. Their portraits captured both sides of the day so naturally, one honoring tradition, the other embracing a modern celebration, without either feeling separate from the other.

A Second “I Do” Beneath the Oaks

After a quick break and an outfit change, the day took on a completely different feel. Nikita stepped into a sleek white gown while Harrison changed into a classic suit, and together they met their family at the Shade Garden in Forsyth Park for an intimate civil ceremony. The Spanish moss, soft afternoon light, and peaceful garden setting couldn’t have been a more perfect contrast to the morning’s celebration.

Standing beneath the oak trees with only the people who mattered most, they exchanged vows once again, this time in a way that reflected another part of their story. Afterwards, we wandered through Forsyth Park for portraits, taking our time beneath the canopy of trees and soaking in the quiet joy that seemed to follow them everywhere. It never felt like two separate weddings, it felt like one beautiful day with two meaningful chapters.
