We couldn’t believe it when LeeSean surprised us all when he dropped down to one knee at the beginning of his and Tyler’s photoshoot at Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, GA! The pure unfiltered joy on Tyler’s face as he asked her to marry him was so contagious. Tyler’s brother was even there as a surprise guest, handing off the engagement ring to LeeSean. Stating the session off with a surprise proposal made for the rest of their time with me SO fun and filled with so much authentic joy as they all truly soaked up the moment. To Plan A Perfect Surprise Proposal Here Are My Top 4 Tips For A Successful and Fun Day

1. Scout for the perfect spot! Choosing a scenic and meaningful location with good lighting and privacy is key! I would recommend also choosing a spot that means something special to you both. Was it somewhere you had your first date at? Maybe your first kiss? Need help? I am here to find the perfect spot for you!
2. Schedule your proposal close to the golden hour! It’s best to start your session around 2-3 hours before sunset to ensure it’s happening during a time when there is flattering lighting.
3. Plan an activity to help ease the nerves! I totally understand how planning a surprise proposal can be nerve-racking! My recommendation is to bring something that can help distract you. Maybe a bottle of champagne to pop or a cute picnic to ease the nerves. Having an activity creates natural cues and makes the transition much more smooth!
4. Prepare for a backup plan! Plans can change, and that’s a-ok! Talk with your photographer to ensure that if some place is too busy or if the weather is not cooperating then you have a backup plan! Don’t worry, if you need help with this, then we can make this happen together.
