Beauty & the Beach | Romantic Portrait Session at Jekyll Island, Georgia

Megan and Fred’s photoshoot at St. Andrew’s Beach on Jekyll Island was like stepping into a story book romance. A last minute location change was the perfect decision on this sultry day, with the golden sandy beach, clear blue skies, and balmy winds creating the perfect setting to capture their love story.

It was an evening of creating new memories filled with laughter, play, romance, and adventure. Beginning near the dunes overlooking the ocean, we then went on a trek through the trees, eventually discovering a gorgeous mossy oak secluded on it’s own little island. Getting to the oak was a small adventure in itself – especially with Megan wearing a gorgeous Rue de Siene gown – and so worth every moment. The evening ended on a more playful note, complete with splashing in the waves and piggy back rides – because what’s a beach shoot without all of that?!

None of these things are what truly made this session special however, because none of it would have mattered without the connection that Megan and Fred share. So, what made this session truly remarkable? It wasn’t the scenery, or the perfect outfits, or even the time of day. What truly made this session magical was the pure, authentic joy that emanated from both Megan and Fred just being together in each other’s company. It was the knowing that they could have been just as joyful if they were sitting inside on a rainy day watching NetFlix, as long as they were doing it together.

Megan and Fred’s love story began on 4th of July in 2018. Fred had a crush on Megan, and her girlfriends brought it to her attention that he was only out with them so he could spend time with her. 4th of July fell on a weekday, so they decided to spend the following weekend together. They had a day filled with memories that they didn’t want to end, filled with going to the gym, lunch, going to the beach, dinner, and a late movie.

Now, three years later, Megan and Fred’s love story remains. They enjoy doing everything together as well as nothing at all. From biking downtown while stopping at local spots, or spending a lazy day snuggled up together, they enjoy it all.
