There’s something about golden hour in the South that feels like a deep breath warm, still, and a little nostalgic. That’s exactly what this Georgia couple session with Olivia and Blythe was made of. Set on their family’s private property in North Georgia, we celebrated eight years of marriage (and twelve years of being completely smitten with each other) in a way that felt effortlessly them, quiet laughter, and their favorite yellow airplane resting behind us like a chapter marker in their love story!

Olivia and Blythe are the kind of couple who remind you that true love is often wrapped in the unexpected. They met in college through mutual friends, and while Olivia admits she didn’t think much of Blythe at first (maybe even found him a little annoying, lol), one spontaneous wedding date later had her spinning across the dance floor and laughing until her cheeks hurt. The rest, as they say, was history. Four years of dating, a post-grad wedding two weeks after college, and now eight years of marriage with a beautiful family, pups, and a deep love for simple, slow living outdoors.

When Olivia told me that flying in their small plane is one of their favorite pastimes just cruising low and slow over the trees, soaking in the views together, I knew we had to incorporate it into their shoot. We spent the afternoon in a field of wildflowers, with warm light pouring across the sky and not a single rush in the air.
