I’m a true romantic at heart, and It fills me with so much joy to know that I get to work with so many amazing couples like you.
There’s something about the beach when it’s quiet. When the clouds hang low and the wind moves like it has secrets to tell. That’s exactly what Tybee Island gave us on the day of Amy and Justin’s session, soft fog, salty air, and an empty stretch of sand that felt like it was just waiting for them. This whimsical Tybee Island couple session was full of heart, movement, and the kind of laughter that makes your chest ache in the best way! From a mint green bicycle with daisies in the basket to messy hair and barefoot spins in the tide, the whole thing felt like a rom-com where love is loud and uncomplicated!
Amy and Justin showed up ready to play. And I mean that in the best, most carefree way possible. From the second their toes hit the sand, they were running, spinning, kissing, collapsing into laughter. At one point, he rode the bike backwards (yes, backwards), and she responded by licking her elbow like a total goofball, two people completely unafraid to just be with each other. No stiffness, no overthinking, just a day full of movement and emotion and unfiltered connection. You could feel how much they trusted each other. And when that kind of safety is present, the photos go beyond pretty, they become personal.
“It all started because of Bumble,” Amy told me. “I sent a message to Justin, and he got a notification just before the app was going to delete it. He quickly responded and from then on, the rest is history.” I love when a story unfolds like that, a moment of almost-missed connection that ends up changing everything. She said from their first date, she didn’t want the night to end. They were engaged a year later in a hot air balloon (casual!!) and married just three months after that. “I’m so thankful that he is mine and I am his. We are a team, and there is nothing greater.” Reading those words after photographing them felt like everything clicked. The trust, the joy, the way they held each other close even in the wind, it all made sense!
I photograph a lot of love stories, but this session? This one will stay with me. Maybe it was the moody weather. Could have been how the beach gave us space to play and breathe. Or maybe it was just Amy and Justin being their full, magnetic selves. Either way, it felt like a reminder that love doesn’t need perfect conditions. Sometimes it’s best when the wind is wild and the waves are loud and the two of you are just… there, together. This whimsical Tybee Island couple session was full of that magic. The kind you can’t pose or plan. Just two people choosing each other over and over again!
If you’re dreaming of a session that feels unfiltered, joy-filled, and deeply personal, let’s create something just like this. Whether it’s a foggy morning on the beach or golden hour in the mountains, I’m here for the in-between moments and the full-hearted ones. The laughter that turns breathless, the way your hand finds theirs instinctively, the kind of love that doesn’t need much prompting. Head to my contact page when you are ready!
